Host: Hey there, welcome back to the podcast. It has been a hot minute since I sat down and recorded a podcast episode, and honestly, I feel a little out of practice. But I’m excited to jump back in and for the things I’ve planned for the podcast in 2025. I’m doing things a little differently this year—bringing in some guests, which I’ve never done before but am very excited about. Of course, I’ll also continue to have short solo episodes with actionable tips you can take and run with.
First, I thought I’d give you a few life updates. The last episode I recorded was Cade’s birth story, and now, just after this episode releases, he’ll be five months old! Honestly, it’s so crazy how time is flying. As a mom of four, it feels like time speeds up with every new kiddo. Between Anthony, who will be eight in February, Kenley, who just turned five, Hollis, who’s three, and Cade, our five-month-old—life is busy and full of milestones.
This stage of life has its challenges. Last night was one of those hard parenting nights where the kids had meltdowns over seemingly nothing. It can be tough to stay calm while teaching them emotional regulation. I know many of you listening can relate to that.
So, what else is new? I’m back to work and diving into the business. Let’s talk about today’s actual topic because, honestly, I’m on a timer. I’m cluster pumping right now to boost my supply, and I’ve got about 17 minutes before I need to start pumping again. Let’s get into it!
Host: This past week, I hosted a live training called From Tired to Thriving. It’s specifically for postpartum moms—and by postpartum, I don’t just mean the six weeks after birth. Postpartum can last for years, especially if you’ve had back-to-back pregnancies and breastfeeding journeys. Many of us feel like we’re perpetually postpartum and still trying to regain our energy and feel like ourselves again.
During the training, I discussed three myths that keep us stuck in the belief that fatigue is just part of mom life:
- It’s normal to be tired as a mom. Society tells us it’s just part of the package. While tired moments happen, persistent fatigue doesn’t have to be your norm.
- Losing the baby weight will help your energy. This belief is so pervasive but untrue. Weight is not the magic solution to energy levels.
- Fatigue is all about sleep deprivation. Yes, sleepless nights are a factor, but there are deeper causes like nutritional depletion and hormonal shifts.
When we buy into these beliefs, we’re stuck in cycles of low energy and miss opportunities to address the real issues. Persistent fatigue affects everything—from your ability to enjoy your kids to taking care of yourself.
Host: Here’s what I shared as actionable strategies during the training:
- Fuel Your Body Properly: It’s not just about eating enough calories but the right kind of calories. Include protein and fiber in every meal to support energy.
- Replenish Your Minerals: Pregnancy depletes about 10% of your vitamins and minerals. If you’re not intentional about replenishing them, it’s hard to feel like yourself again.
- Support Blood Sugar Balance: Avoid extreme spikes and crashes. Combine proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbs in meals to maintain steady energy throughout the day.
Host: At the end of the webinar, I introduced my new program, Mama’s Power-Up: A 4-Week Journey to Combat Fatigue. This group coaching program helps moms reclaim their energy and feel more like themselves while balancing everything life throws their way. It’s designed to fit into your busy schedule because I get it—as a mom of four, I don’t have extra time, and neither do you.
Enrollment is open until January 17th, so don’t wait. If you’re ready to feel energized and enjoy motherhood again, join us. I’ll add the link to the show notes.
Host: Before we wrap up, I have some questions for you to reflect on:
- Are your energy levels where you want them to be?
- If not, are you ready to stop letting fatigue dictate your life?
- Can you commit to small, sustainable changes to support your body and reclaim your energy?
If you’re ready, this program is perfect for you. I’ll be right there alongside you with a community of moms who get it. Postpartum and motherhood can feel lonely, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
Thank you for tuning in. I’ll see you next week for a new episode!
